The Honest Advisor accelerates growth by providing a confidential and highly customized approach to coaching, consulting, and connecting.
It was founded by Laura Gilman on the premise that honesty is essential to growth, yet it is almost impossible to find in corporate and personal teams and settings, where your colleagues, family, and friends are biased.
Clients include executives, entrepreneurs, boards of directors, and leadership teams seeking the unbiased interactions, experiences and observations needed for growth. Projects include coaching boards and leadership teams to achieve alignment, coaching executives to identify obstacles and move forward, strategic planning and implementation for fast growing startups, and business development for emerging entrepreneurs.
Laura Gilman
Laura Gilman is an astute and strategic advisor to C-suite executives, philanthropists, and boards of directors for Fortune 500 companies and high-profile nonprofits.
She is known as a connector and a diplomatic, impactful truth teller with an innate sense of honing in on the critical elements that are missing from the conversation.
Laura’s diverse career began at Morgan Stanley in Equity Capital Markets managing Initial Public Offerings, where she calmly led multiple roadshows during the technology boom of the late 1990s.
Laura later held executive positions at Victoria’s Secret Beauty and Citigroup, where she led client-facing and revenue-generating initiatives.
She has built teams and innovative programs that raised over $100M to support groundbreaking cancer research initiatives by inspiring philanthropists, celebrities, executives, and cancer patients to harness their collective power to accelerate cancer research.
Laura served as an Executive Producer for 200 Miles—a film about the power of philanthropy—which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. She is a Co-Active Executive Coach, and is co-authoring a book about the personal decisions leaders make that greatly influence their success.
Laura resides with her husband and son in Westport, Connecticut and New York City.
